1. The service
MCFCBot Moderation provides optional tools that help authorised Reddit moderators observe account activity, apply configured content rules, manage exceptional posting controls, review decisions and reverse app-created actions.
Use of the app remains subject to Reddit’s terms and rules and to the published rules of the community where it is installed.
2. Moderator responsibility
Only authorised moderators may configure the app. Moderators are responsible for:
- Choosing which independent controls to enable.
- Configuring rules and thresholds that are appropriate for their community.
- Reviewing decisions, errors and appeals.
- Ensuring their use of the app follows Reddit’s Moderator Code of Conduct, Reddit’s policies and applicable law.
The app assists with community governance but does not replace moderator judgement or transfer responsibility to the app operator.
3. Automated moderation
When explicitly enabled, the app may automatically remove posts or comments and may ban accounts according to configured rules. Other controls, including lockdown, flair-only mode and match-related posting restrictions, are removal-only. Configuration descriptions and the app’s status views explain the effect of each control.
Automated classifications and rules can be incomplete or wrong. Moderators should monitor outcomes and use the available restore, unban and reconciliation tools where appropriate. Users should appeal through the moderators of the community where an action occurred.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the app to harass users, discriminate unlawfully, evade Reddit safeguards, collect information for an unrelated purpose, expose private information, probe secrets or carry out actions that violate Reddit’s policies or applicable law.
You must not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the app or its configured services except where applicable law expressly permits it.
5. Availability and changes
The app is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, detection of every violation, error-free classification or permanent availability. Reddit API changes, permissions, outages and third-party services may affect operation. Features and supported communities may change, and the service may be suspended or discontinued where necessary.
6. Intellectual property and third-party rights
The app’s original code and presentation remain subject to their applicable ownership and licences. Reddit content belongs to its respective users or rights holders, and Reddit’s names and marks belong to Reddit. No affiliation or endorsement is implied.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from a moderation decision, failure to act, service interruption or configuration chosen by community moderators. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
8. Privacy
The Moderation privacy policy explains the information processed by the app, its automated decisions and retention limits and forms part of these terms.
9. Suspension or removal
A community may uninstall the app using Reddit’s controls. The app operator or Reddit may restrict or discontinue the service where required for security, compliance, platform changes or misuse.
10. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated to reflect changes to the app or applicable requirements. Continued use after an update means the current terms apply. Questions can be sent by modmail to r/mcfcbot.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live.
